Friday check-in¶
Every Friday you send Claude three things: a link to your repo, your five lines on what you learned, and the outline of your demo video. Claude reviews the week like an instructor would, and you fix the top issue before Monday.
How to send it¶
Use the Claude app or Claude Code, from inside your scam-checker folder so it can read the code. Paste this and fill in the brackets:
This is my week [N] check-in for my AI engineering self-study.
Course page for this week: https://samsonleegh.github.io/ai-engineering-self-study/weeks/week-[NN]/
Repo: [link to your scam-checker repo]
What I built this week:
[the deliverable checklist from the week page, ticked or not]
My numbers:
[precision, recall, cost or latency figures from this week]
Five lines on what I learned:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Demo video, what it shows:
[one line per scene]
Please:
1. Review this week's code as a senior engineer would. List the three most important problems, most important first.
2. Check my numbers: is the comparison fair, and is anything I claim not supported?
3. Ask me two questions an interviewer would ask about this week's work.
4. Tell me the one thing to fix before Monday.
What to do with the answer¶
- Fix the "one thing" before Monday's work starts; commit it with a message that says what you fixed.
- Answer the two interview questions out loud, then in writing in a
notes/interview-answers.mdfile in your repo. By week 12 this is your interview preparation. - If the review says a week didn't click, plan to repeat it in week 13.
Keep a log¶
Add one line per week to notes/progress.md in your repo: the date, the deliverable, the headline number, and the one fix. Twelve lines of that is the story you tell in interviews.
